Wait a second. How would QT be able to know about fishing? I though Space Dandy doesn’t have continuity.
The Dandy crew are fishing for a Munagi, an extremely rare fish that appears once every 3600 years worth 50 million woolongs. They head to the planet Kayu in search for the Munagi, only for the ship to get strung up in space kelp, leaving Dandy to go it alone. He meets an old fisherman named L’delise and his young companion named Erssime. When L’delise goes missing hunting for the Munagi, Dandy and Erssime goes out to search for him. Munagi appear during the blue moon. Said blue moon is actually a comet named Rubini comet, which act as the Munagi’s true home. With it gone, the Dandy crew are back to square one. Again.
So, this one’s kinda light, because I was OK with this episode. It lost me. Even on the second viewing. Anyway onto the next episode.
In an attempt to lure Dandy out, Dr. Gel kidnaps Honey. Meanwhile, Scarlet’s coworker, Pine-Pine has a plan to pair her up with a dandy and gentle man. Speaking of dandy, the Dandy crew are in a serious rut. They’ve been looking for a almost impposible-to-find alien called a Cloudian and has went for half a year without any income. As a result, Dandy’s lack of nourishment has made him completely delusional. Fortunately, there is an all-you-can-eat buffet at the nearby planet, C’est-la-Vie.
Somehow they manage to fool this guy into thinking they’re ladies.
And speaking of gentle, there also exists in the universe the Cloudian named Sir Gentle Nobra. Cloudians gather and store data from all over the universe, particularly about lonely women that they comfort. Anyway, Dandy and the others arrive at the buffet, where Scarlet and Pine-Pine just so happens to be at. As it turns out, the buffet is for females only, As Scarlet leaves, she meets Gentle and is invited to his ship. Dandy and the others see this and goes in pursuit. Meanwhile, Dr. Gel and Bea attempt to upload Honey’s memory to their system in order to track Dandy, but it’s overloaded due to Honey being half-Cloudian.
Meanwhile, Dandy and the others board the cloud to catch the Cloudian and save Scarlet.
Exactly what I was thinking. At first I thought the laugh track was a bit weird, but then there’s an explanation for it.
Yeah, about that laugh track: that’s been the cause of two Ambiancians named Atmo and Sphere. Anyway, Dandy and Gentle receive a (fake) SOS from Honey and drops everything to go to her rescue. Honey escapes by using a piledriver (Yes, a piledriver) on Gel, and the others escape using an escape pod on the cloud.
Nobra, as in “No Bra”
When everyone reunites, The Narrator reveals that Honey (real name Lady Nobra) and Gentle are half-siblings. Also, a Cloudian is worth nothing without its cloud, so Gentle takes his leave to restore his cloud.
Now this episode I liked even more. And that little reveal about Honey being half-Cloudian a a bit of a surprise.
