Previous episode, the Unova League continues with Ash, Kotetsu, Stephan, and Virgil advancing to the Top 16. Round 4 of the tournament kicks off with Ash facing off against Stephen Stephan.

I know this might sound dirty, but has anyone noticed that Krookodile's snout looks kinda, y'know... phallic? Just throwing it out.

Stephan uses Liepard and Ash uses Krookodile. The battle begins with Krookodile’s Dragon Claw and Liepard’s Shadow Claw colliding. Liepard then uses Shadow Ball, which Krookodile defends with Stone Edge. Liepard uses Hyper Beam (For some odd reason, Liepard’s Hyper Beam has the same beam animation as Giovanni’s Persian using Power Gem); Krookodile Digs underground to avoid it. Liepard uses Double Team to surround Krookodile and attacks with Shadow Claw and Shadow Ball.

Here's something you probably knew already: Double Team's Japanese name is Kage Bushin (Shadow Clone), which shares the same name as Naruto's signature jutsu.

Krookodile counters with Stone Edge and Digs underground again. Liepard uses Double Team/Hyper Beam to draw out Krookodile and Krookodile attacks with Dragon Claw. Liepard attacks with Shadow Claw and the attacks continue to collide until Liepard gets knocked out.

Stephan sends out Zebstrika. Ash recalls Krookodile and sends out Palpitoad. This battle begins with Zebstrika using Double-Edge while Palpitoad attacks using Mud Shot; Zebstrika dodges the attack to deal damage to Palpitoad. Palpitoad dodges Zebstrika’s Stomp and uses Sludge Wave (a new attack it had learned); the attack hits and Zebstrika is poisoned. Zebstrika uses Facade (which deals more damage if the user has a status ailment). Palpitoad sends Zebstraika into confusion using Supersonic.

"We told you this would happen if you tried to make sense of Sword Art Online! We told you!!"

“We told you this would happen if you tried to make sense of Sword Art Online! We told you!!”

Palpitoad hits with Hydro Pump. Zebstrika uses Giga Impact and Palpitoad uses Mud Shot; both attacks hit and both Pokémon are knocked out.

Stephan sends out Sawk and Ash sends out Leavanny. Sawk starts off with Bulk Up, Leavanny uses String Shot to restrain him, but Sawk breaks out easily. Sawk then uses Close Combat, but Leavanny dodges and attacks using X-Scissor. Leavanny continues to dodge Sawk’s Low Sweep and Karate Chop and attack with Razor Leaf and Energy Ball. Sawk blocks Leavanny’s X-Scissor and attack with Low Sweep and Close Combat. With Leavanny weakened, his Swarm ability kicks in, boosting its Bug-type attacks. Sawk uses Bulk up again, but it’s not enough to withstand Leavanny’s powered-up String Shot and X-Scissor attacks. Sawk manages to break out and finish off Leavanny with a Karate Chop.

Krookodile is sent back out. With him being weakened from his previous fight with Liepard and the type disadvantage, the odds are against him. Krookodile attempts to defend Sawk’s Close Combat with Dragon Claw. Krrokodile uses his newest attack, Aerial Ace, knocking out Sawk. Ash advances to the Quarterfinals. Virgil, Kotetsu and this apparently important fella advances to the next round as well.

The Quarterfinals are up next. From this point on, the battles will be a full 6-0n-6 battle. Ash will be facing off against Kotetsu next episode.

I can't believe Kotetsu has an Hydreigon. Last I checked, Hydreigon is German for "It's goin' down."
