Valvrave #2: ERU-ERUFUUUUUUU!!!

Screenshot - 4_20_2013 , 11_28_24 AMAs you know, 666 is the Number of the Beast, meaning no good can come out of it. What were the designers thinking?!

The episode opens with last episode’s post-credits scene, where L-Elf stabs and shoots Haruto to death the second he steps out of the Valvrave.

Dorssians don't fuck around when it comes to making sure people are dead. Stabbed through the heart? Not enough! Shoot him a couple times.

But then it turns out activating Valvrave turned Haruto into a vampire as he bites down on L-Elf. As Haruto’s friends, Saki Rukino, Kyuma Inazuka and Aina Sakurai arrive on the scene, they find themselves held up by L-Elf’s group, who are Dorssians posing as Sakimori Academy students. But then, L-Elf turns on them, shoots out A-Drei’s left eye, and helps the others escape.

It turns out that Haruto can body-surf just by biting someone, which is how he ended up in L-Elf’s body. Haruto has to get back in his body and take back Valvrave, which has been taken by Dorssians. Meanwhile, the JIOR government has issue a surrender to Dorssia.

As Haruto goes in to get himself back in his body, he finds that his wounds have all healed.

And where did Inazuka get the idea that if you can ride a bicycle, you can pilot a helicopter? I'm pretty sure it doesn't work like that.

Rukino jumps into the cockpit with Haruto so she can tie up L-Elf once Haruto is out of his body. He then chases the Dorssian fleet out of Module 77 and heads out into space only to be met by more Dorssians, including the heavy strategic weapon Ideal, piloted by A-Drei.

So the Valvrave can overheat and stop moving when the heat capacity number on the control panel hits 100. L-Elf frees himself and takes Rukino hostage, demanding an explanation about what’s going on and why the Dorssians thinks he’s a traitor. Meanwhile, Haruto gets a call on his cellphone. I don’t understand how he’s able to get reception in space, but that’s beside the point. The real point is who exactly is calling.

Well, fuck me. I coulda sworn she was dead. Typical Sunrise, making us think someone is dead but never showing the body. Yep, turns out Shoko went inside a car with someone else before it got shot, but they’re buried underneath dirt. As Haruto heads back to Module 77, the Valvrave’s heat capacity meter hits 100 and shuts down. However, the maximum value has risen to 666.

Once the number hits 666, the Valvrave goes into a Super Mode which I’m going to call Super Saiyan Valvrave for the time being. It then commits harakiri, which actually boosts its attack power. At the same time, ARUS forces come in and force the Dorssian fleet to fall back.

Back at Module 77, L-Elf is arrested by ARUS and Haruto reunites with Shoko as they decide to pick up where they left off.

And he wimps out and doesn't spit it out... Her T-shirt was lame, by the way.

Her T-shirt was lame, by the way.

That was just a lie he made up because he thinks there’s no way he can tell Shoko anything after what he’s become…

I kinda feel like everything that the previous episode built up to just became moot with Shoko being alive and all. I don’t know, maybe it would’ve been better if she did die, but this is Sunrise, after all. Also, I don’t really understand why Dorssia attacked JIOR other than they’re dicks. It was an okay episode, but I’m really forward to it more.

I find it amusing and not really moot even though she’s alive. He gave up his humanity to some unknown people who have the right to kill him any time they want and he wanted to kill all Space Nazis.
