What the heck is up with these Titans? I thought they were weird-looking enough, what with them looking like giant naked zombies. But then you got one that looks like someone from Disney designed it. How the hell do you expect me to take these things seriously?!!!
OK Episode 5 continues from previous episode: A Colossal Titan (a titan that looks like it’s skinless) appears shit out of nowhere and attacks the wall. Eren and the others that were standing by prepare for combat, but the thing disappears before Eren is able to land a blow.
So a contingency plan is put into motion to deal with the approaching Titans, which means that they have to evacuate Trost since they can’t seal the breach in the wall. Meanwhile the Survey Corps hold back the titan until evacuation is complete.
Jean is freaking out about this whole operation because he was planning on going to the interior, but Eren reminds him that this is what they’ve trained for.
Now a flashback reveals that records show nothing about where Titans came from. They also don’t seem to be capable of reproduction. And they are only interested in humans. Their purpose in life is to devour humans, but they’ve survived for more than a century without doing so, and it may not even be necessary for them. In other terms, they don’t eat humans to satisfy their hunger, they do so because they’re dicks.
Also, these guys are really tough when it comes to vitality. Even their Anti-Titan cannons do nothing. These guys won’t die, even if their heads are blown off because they have a healing factor. However, despite their size and abilities, they are vincible. Fortunately. Their weak point is at the back of their necks. A couple slices there with kill a Titan before they can regenerate.
Present day: Titans invade Trost, and one of them ends up eating Thomas. Eren rushes at it in a fit of rage, only to get his left leg chomped off. And that’s when things go straight to Hell.
Armin, being unable to move upon watching his friends get slaughtered, can only stand idly as one Titan grabs him, about to go nom-nom on him. Eren pulls himself together and saves Armin. Unfortunately the Titan chomps his left arm off, and probably swallows him, and at this point I’m hoping that I’m having some kind of bad dream now…
OK, I guess not… *sigh* Episode 6: Armin is stiill reeling over how everything has gone to Hell, only he now just realized everything always was in Hell. He just never realized it until now. Awhile ago during their childhood, Eren and Mikasa saved his butt and gave him the courage to grow stronger. Well, the fact that Eren and most of his crew is dead pretty much says he hasn’t grown any stronger.
If that’s not enough, some are more concerned about getting their cargo out first over the people. To make matters worse (I’m probably gonna be saying that alot), a Titan appears and it’s running towards them. And believe me, these guys may be big, but they’re damn fast. Mikasa and her team are barely able to catch up to it and kill it. Mikasa then convinces the cargo’s owner to let the people out first.
So anyway, Mikasa recalls her life six years ago when her parents were murdered by traffickers. In this time, Asians are almost nonexistant, so they don’t come every once in awhile. But to their disappointment, Mikasa’s half-Asian. They intended to take her mother instead, but they accidentally killed her and had to settle for Mikasa instead.
Eren comes in and brutally murder the two traffickers, but end up attacked by the third one. Mikasa then snaps and kills the guy. With nowhere she can go, Eren’s father decides to take Mikasa in.
It’s like every episode, they decide to escalate things even more. Who knows how much things can escalate until they can escalate no further? There were some pretty awesome episodes. I won’t admit it yet, but this just might live up to its hype, unlike certain shows…
