Magical Warfare // First Impressions

Magical Warfare (Mahou Sensou) is a Madhouse adaptation of Hisashi Suzuki’s light novel. The story follows Takeshi Nanase, an ordinary first-year student with a rather dysfunctional family. One day, he sees a girl named Miu Aiba collapsed near school campus. Miu is a magic-user from another world armed with a magic pistol, and is being pursued by an anti-magic group called Ghost Trailers. Takeshi is accidentally given evasive magic by Miu and drawn into a battle between magicians and Ghost Trailer.

Okay first episode. I like the premise, but there were some things in the first episode that just rubs me the wrong way. Like Miu, for example. I just know she’s gonna be that annoying abusive tsundere cliche I can’t stand. And really, breast expansion as a magical ability?! Whose dumb idea was that?!! Yeah you get the idea. My expectations aren’t too high for this one…
