So Kirito’s harem are busy watching a livestream of the BoB tournament in ALO. Apparently Twitch doesn’t exist in Sword Art Online. Anyway, they each watch Pale Rider get attacked by Death Gun. Sinon attempts to snipe him, but he dodges and takes a shot at Pale Rider while he’s down. Supposedly just one shot in-game, whether it be lethal or not, is all it takes for a player IRL to die of a heart attack. Klein and Asuna recognizes the guy just by his catchphrase “It’s Show Time.” as an LC member, but can’t remember who it was.
Sinon can’t detect him on the terminal, which can only mean he’s probably hiding underwater with all of his equipment off. So they decide to team up to knock him out of the running. But they’re interrupted by a player attacking them. Honestly, it’s kinda a weak fight, since it really doesn’t do much of anything except break the narrative so that Kirito can have an awesome moment to himself and to make Sinon fall for him even more. It could’ve really done fine without it.
Anyway, since Pale Rider wasn’t Death Gun, they assume that he might be Gunner X. They decide to split up to take him on, but Death Gun uses this opportunity to paralyze Sinon. As Death Gun prepares to lay the killing shot, Sinon notes that his gun is a Black Star Type 54, the same gun she used to kill the burglar.
Honestly, it was a slow and boring episode. Nothing of any interest happened. And my major gripe is that once again, it’s all about Kirito. Klein and Asuna clearly recognize Death Gun from SAO too. Why aren’t they in GGO helping Kirito? Because Kirito’s the hero and it’d make him uncool if he had others’ help to defeat the villain? This crap’s issue is that it’s sidelining everybody just so they can make the least interesting character look cool for the audience.
