Prison School // First Impressions

Screenshot - 7_10_2015 , 9_26_16 PMSchool is in session. Get those textbooks out and–Wait a minute, it’s summer! Why do we have to go to school in the damn summertime? Ah, whatever.

Prison School, a J.C. Staff adaptation of Akira Hiramoto’s manga, is set in Hachimitsu Private Academy, an all-girls school turned co-ed. For five of its newest male students, peeping on the female student body seems like a walk in the park… That is, until the Underground Student Council catches them and the five are sentenced to in-school prison, where they have every intention on making the five males’ school lives a living Hell.

Well, my initial thoughts about Prison School was that it was gonna be an OW THE EDGE kinda show. Having seen the first episode, that turned out to not be the case. Instead it’s, uh… Well… How should I put this? It’s… something. It looks completely trashy and it seems like the kind of show that no one honestly should like, even if they were joking. And that is part of the appeal. The show is fully aware that it’s trashy, and I enjoy it for that. Maybe Prison School is something for me to keep an eye on this summer.
