*sigh* Great, here’s yet another “let’s try to be the next Attack on Titan” show. You’d think that after the previous efforts, they’d learn to give it a rest. Why should I think this effort will be any different?
God Eater, a ufotable adaptation of the Sony PSP video game by Bandai Namco, is set in the year 2071, where humanity has been pushed to the brink of extinction by monstrous creatures known as Aragami. The organization Fenrir was founded in order to train God Eaters to fight the Aragami, using giant weapons created with Aragami cells known as God Arcs. Normally, a God Arc comes in the form of either a blade or gun. However, one wielded by Lenka Utsugi has the ability to shift between gun and blade.
First episode in, not too bad. To be honest, I wasn’t impressed by it. I mean, I’ll give it a benefit of doubt that its first episode has outdone the entire first half of Seraph of the End, but that’s not saying much. It just feels like a “been there, done that.” kind of thing. I would like to see where this goes, though.
