Rage of Bahamut: Genesis was one of the unexpected surprise hits of 2014. Its unforeseen success wowed audiences and critics alike and allowed it to earn a sequel and a spinoff airing sometime when-the-hell-ever. This is neither of those, yet it shares the Bahamut name. This is magic high school light novel junk number… I lost count and I’m willing to bet you did too.
Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle, a Lerche adaptation of Senri Akatsuki’s light novel, follows Lux, the former prince of the fallen Arcadia empire, as he ends up attending a female-only school at the Kingdom of Atismata meant for training royalty to become Drag-Knights to wield mechanical armored battlesuits known as Drag-Rides. When Lux meets the kingdom’s princess, Lisesharte, naked in the bathhouse, she then challenges him to a Drag-Ride duel.
And I’m just gonna stop right here.
I remember watching Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle exactly 5 years ago this season, back when it was called Infinite Stratos. Heck, this is basically the exact same show with the exact same premise. You’ve seen these types of shows far too many times that they’re all the same copy-and-paste thing, so instead of saying what you’ve already heard way too many times already, I’m just gonna show you something that 200 times more exciting than this junk and call it a day: The first episode of the Super Mario Bros. Z reboot.
