Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans (2nd Season) // First Impressions

screenshot-10_3_2016-11_00_41-pmSo last year, we’ve seen a return to form for Gundam after a couple of blunders. But Iron-Blooded Orphans is only halfway done. So without further ado…

In the second season of Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, in the couple years since Tekkadan’s mission to escort Kudelia to Earth, as well as her plea for Mars independence, was a success, resulting in Gjallarhorn’s corruption being exposed to the public, Tekkadan’s exploits has only increased PMC’s demand for more child soldiers. Even Tekkadan has taken in some new recruits, since having expanded their operations with the help of the Teiwaz group. Mobile Suits that were once retired after the Calamity War have been recommisioned. The world is changing, but not in the way anyone expected it to be…

So the start of the second season is a reintroduction to the series after taking half the year off, so catching up on where our characters are at this point in the story is par for the course. As we’ve seen, Orga’s relegated to a desk job, which basically means Mikazuki (who lost the use of his right eye and arm when not connected to Barbatos) is now Tekkadan’s field commander. It starts off slow, but gets running out the gate once a battle breaks out. Aside from that, we are stepping into new territory with Season 2 and I’m excited to see how it can hold up. And for God’s sake, please protect Cookie and Cracker, Okada. You already took Biscuit away from them…
